🐿️✨ Our July Wrap-Up: Whimsy Wheels, Market Magic & More Indie Authors
July 2025 was one of those months where everything felt real.
We rolled up our sleeves (and our signage), experienced our first market, and officially took the first steps toward bringing the Whimsy Wagon dream to life.
From indie books to community celebrations, here’s everything we got up to in our second month as your favourite whimsical bookstore.
🚐 Meet the Whimsy Wagon!
We finally did it… we bought our bookish caravan!
This vintage beauty is destined to become our rolling storefront, The Whimsy Wagon. With fairy lights, wooden shelves, and cozy vibes in the works, we’re transforming it into a magical little hub for markets, pop-ups, and spontaneous book joy across South Australia.
To help fund the renovations, we launched our GoFundMe, and the response from our community has been nothing short of amazing. Thank you to everyone who’s donated, shared, or sent us words of encouragement. Every dollar brings us closer to making this dream a reality. 🧡
🛍️ Our First Market (!!!)
We hit the road for our very first market this month, and it was everything we hoped for.
The City of Playford Author Market was filled with hundreds of beautiful bibliophiles, outstanding authors, and more bookish merch than you could dream of!
We had such an amazing time connecting with our tribe, and seeing people connect with the books and authors we champion was a whole new kind of magic. We can’t wait to do it all again soon!

🔧 Small Team, Big Dreams
This month was full of planning, painting, filming promos, answering DMs, updating the website, packing orders, organizing stock, dreaming big, and juggling it all with sooo many cups of tea, delirious laughter, and the occasional dance break.
We’re learning more every day about running a business, showing up authentically, and creating something that’s more than just a bookstore. We’re building a space that celebrates storytelling in all its forms, especially the underdog, the indie, the beautifully weird, and the wonderfully niche.
